One year ago today, I was sitting on Janice's couch holding little 5 week old Lucie. Flannery was kicking her through my tummy. I was almost in tears because the day before, my doctor had said there were no signs the baby was coming any time soon. He said, I'll be on call this weekend, but I doubt you'll have her before next week. I just
knew she was coming. No contractions, but I'd been feeling strangely emotional over the last 24 hours.
On the way out the door, I told Janice, "next time I see you I'll be in labor. Just kidding." I went home, packed my hospital bag (finally), finished all my thank you notes, organized my whole house and finally laid down at 11:00 pm to relax and "talk" to Flannery. Three hours later she woke me up, having decided to start her grand entrance into this life...
Lucie and me waiting for Flannery...
